From the Collection:

The Santa Barbara Legacy Reel Audio Tape Collection contain recordings of oral histories, radio programs, meetings, lectures, telephone conversations, ceremonies, and music perfomances of local old timers and influential people. These 184 electronic files, extracted from 98 one quarter-inch reel-to-reel magnetic tapes, represent the earliest audio recordings made by the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.

Part 1 of the verbatim recording of the Conference on the Utilization of Archival and Educational Resources held at Sacramento State College, in the Little Theatre, on September 17, 1966.

This track contains an introduction by Max Rafferty on the intentions behind the September 17, 1966 statewide conference on the Utilization of Archival and Educational Resources.

The original recording of the Proceedings of the Utilization of Archival and Educational Resources Conference consisted of 3 audiotape reels in analog formant, recorded at 3 3/4 ips, on 2 tracks, on 7 in. reels. The second of the three audiotape reels are missing from this acquisition.
