The Santa Barbara Legacy Reel Audio Tape Collection contain recordings of oral histories, radio programs, meetings, lectures, telephone conversations, ceremonies, and music perfomances of local old timers and influential people. These 184 electronic files, extracted from 98 one quarter-inch reel-to-reel magnetic tapes, represent the earliest audio recordings made by the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.

This track, from 00:02:52 to 01:14:04, features historian Rosario Curletti presenting at a meeting of Los Libros Book Club, a special interest group within the Newcomers Club. Miss Curletti discusses her picks of the best books on Santa Barbara history, flora, and color, interspersed with poetry readings. The meeting was held at the Fernald House. The beginning of the track is an introduction by Dorothy Holmes Toporeck with the last portion of the track consisting of oral readings by Mrs. Toporeck.
