Pablo De La Guerra's desk and Dario Oreña's prayer book

1. Desk - Mahogany Lap Desk with metal plate with name of Pablo De La Guerra. Approximately 14 ¼ x 10-1/4" x 5-3/4". Desk is said to be used by Pablo De La Guerra when he served as circuit court judge and therefore, it traveled around his district. (Notes from Joseph Donohoe 4/8/1988). 2. [Prayer book.] Église catholique. 1869. Oficio divino para-todos los dias de fiesta y de precepto en latin y castellano. Nueva edicion augmentada con la semana santa. Paris: Laplace. Stored inside above desk; printed in Spanish and used by Dario Oreña. Inscription on inside blank page; "Dario Oreña — This prayer book was owned and used by my father for many years – after his death March 7, 1937 - given to me by my mother. [signed] Anita O. Dibblee"

Received from Joseph Donohoe V, as a LOAN 1976 October. Released by Joseph A. Donohoe 1979-12-15. Desk, and prayer book stored within, were exhibited in Story of Santa Barbara exhibit until June 2020. Transferred to Gledhill Library in June 2020 by Collections Department to make room for social distancing visitation during COVID-19 pandemic.
