Biography
In the 1880s, George F. Trenwith moved to Santa Barbara and became a partner with N.P. Austin in his general store. When Austin died in the early 1890s, Trenwith bought out his partner's interest. A Santa Barbara institution, Austin and Trenwith (commonly known as Trenwith's) eventually closed in 1981.

Six scrapbooks contain all thirty years of the weekly local history columns written by Mrs. Rouse for the Santa Barbara News-Press newspaper.
