Biography

In the 1880s, George F. Trenwith moved to Santa Barbara and became a partner with N.P. Austin in his general store. When Austin died in the early 1890s, Trenwith bought out his partner's interest. A Santa Barbara institution, Austin and Trenwith (commonly known as Trenwith's) eventually closed in 1981.
