Framed award (10" X 13") signed by C. M. Andera as Mayor of Santa Barbara and given to William N. Engle. Father of the donor, for his courage. foresight, and devotion to duty on the day of the Santa Barbara Earthquake, June 29th, 1925. Mr. Engle had the presence of mind to throw the main switch turning off the electricity at the old Edison Co. steam plant on lower Castillo, thus saving the city from many fires.
