1. Embroidered cotton christening gown worn by Fanny Searles Gradle, born in Chicago in 1856. She and her husband, prominent physician Dr. Henry Gradle, came to Santa Barbara in 1912. Mrs. Gradle was first woman to graduate from the University of Northwestern Michigan with an M.D. She was also a concert pianist and a botanist of note. 2. Long slip with small sleeve to go with christening gown. 3. Oval photo of Fanny Searles Gradle. 4. Two snapshots of Mid-Victorian house at 205 W. Islay St., built in 1912 by Henry Gradle. Note: Dr. Henry Cradle and Dr. Fanny Searles Gradle for years came to Santa Barbara as summer visitors. She built the house in 1912. Roy Gradle, a gunsmith, was son of the above Bruce Gradle, son of Roy and Janet Gradle (4th generation in S.B.), daughter of Bruce Gradle
