1. Embroidered cotton christening gown worn by Fanny Searles Gradle, born in Chicago in 1856. She and her husband, prominent physician Dr. Henry Gradle, came to Santa Barbara in 1912. Mrs. Gradle was first woman to graduate from the University of Northwestern Michigan with an M.D. She was also a concert pianist and a botanist of note. 2. Long slip with small sleeve to go with christening gown. 3. Oval photo of Fanny Searles Gradle. 4. Two snapshots of Mid-Victorian house at 205 W. Islay St., built in 1912 by Henry Gradle. 1) Four photographs taken at Dabney Cabin and mounted on cardboard. a. View of Dabney Cabin from outside. b. Piece of farm equipment on property of Dabney Cabin. c.-d. Two views of kitchen. Note: Dabney Cabin was constructed in 1914 and used by three generations of the Dabney Family for hunting and fishing. It is now used by Midland School as a place to take students for outdoor experiences. 2) Three photographs of Manzana School House, together with small map of area, all mounted on cardboard. Note: Manzana School House was constructed around 1895. About 100 people, including adults and children lived in the area. Top enrollment at school was approximately 25 students. 3) Five photographs of remains of a sawmill constructed in the early 1890's, which supplied lumber used to construct the school and homes in the valley. Photos mounted on carboard. 4) Four photographs of rusting farm machinery, crumbling walls, and a grave, all reminders that homesteaders once lived there. Today the land is under the supervision of the National Forest Service.

Two/earthenware beer steins “Iroquois Brewing Co. Buffalo, N.Y” Note the above items went through the big Refugio Fire.
