Materials Specific Details
On June 28, 1959, in the presence of United States Ambassador to France, Amory Houghton, and French Premier Michel DePré, the citizens of Maillé dedicated a plaque to the memory of the Hales who had passed away the prior year. An indoor exhibit about the Hales included a letter from the mayor of Santa Barbara, along with a French translation, acknowledging the event. A park was also named in honor of the Hales.
