From the Collection:

The Santa Barbara Legacy Reel Audio Tape Collection contain recordings of oral histories, radio programs, meetings, lectures, telephone conversations, ceremonies, and music perfomances of local old timers and influential people. These 184 electronic files, extracted from 98 one quarter-inch reel-to-reel magnetic tapes, represent the earliest audio recordings made by the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.

Materials Specific Details

Track 1 consists mostly of theatrical music from an NBC-TV program titled, The World of Lerner and Loewe, starting at 00:02:31 and ending at 00:52:17. The first two and a half minutes consists of Dorothy Holmes Toporeck reading a passage from Rosario Curletti's, Pathways to Pavement. The remainder of the track is a recording of an unidentified television comedy program.
