Materials Specific Details

Jane Hollister Wheelwright and Walker Tompkins, with Edwin Gledhill, discuss the content of Tompkins's unpublished manuscript on Col. W. W. Hollister tentatively titled, "Hollister of California," or "King of the Sheep Barons."

Materials Specific Details

Jane Hollister Wheelwright challenges Walker Tompkins about his sources throughout the recording. Wheelwright hired Tompkins and makes a case for the inclusion of endnotes in the manuscript to "dignify" the content. Tompkins continually resists the inclusion of endnotes and instead says his sources will be covered in the foreword and appendix.
