Content Description

Eight (8) 4" x 6" color photographs of the dedication of the second Cabrillo plaque on a rock at Chase Palm Park on November 10, 1988. The original 1919 D.A.R. bronze plaque was stolen from the rock in 1986. Artist Judy Sutcliffe designed and produced the new plaque in tile. Attendees included Sutcliffe, Mayor Sheila Lodge, council member Gerry DeWitt, Hannah Miller, Sam Salario, El Presidente Ray Fraker, Nicholas Rhoy, Steve Malone (News-Press), Virginia Days, Dr. Francis Dutra (UCSB and speaker), Jeremy Hass, Rich Borema, Shirley Bailey, Parks Director Jerry Ambrose, Erica Glessing (News-Press), Kenneth and Janelle Bell, and Mary Louise Days (chairman).
