Biography

Albert Mohr was born in 1925. If his notes are correct he was recording archaeological sites as early as 1939 at the age of 15. Based upon hand written notes, he was befriended by chemical engineer E. T. Ross since Mohr references his notes and sites regularly. At least by 1944 at the age of 19, Mohr was excavating and documenting archaeological resources. After a two year stint in the Army he entered Berkeley as an undergraduate and then advanced to graduate school where, under Robert Heizer he facilitated site recordation throughout California for the California Archaeological Site Survey (CAS).
