Biography

Civil War veteran. Arrived in Santa Barbara in 1866. Postmaster, deputy sheriff, constable, and justice of the peace in Las Cruces (Santa Barbara County, Calif.). Later county clerk, auditor, recorder, school trustee, and manager of the first gas and electric plant in Santa Barbara.
