Biographical / Historical
Jayne Meadows was born to American missionaries in China in 1919. She was the older sister of the actress Audrey Meadows. Her family returned to America in the 1920s. She started acting on Broadway in 1941, then moved to film and television. She acted in both dramas and comedies, and also appeared in variety shows. She was a regular panelist on several game shows, including I've got a secret, from 1952-1967. She married actor-comedian Steve Allen in 1954, with whom she freqently performed and collaborated until his death in 2000. She died in 2015.
