DOLLS, Set of 7 dressed in Polish folk costume 1. Man; sculpted composition face; costume of Cracow includes long blue felt vest and striped culottes; 13" tall 2. Man; posed with hatchett; sculpted composition face, costume includes ivory felt cape and long trousers; 13-1/2" tall 3. Woman; sculpted composition face; long blond braids with floral headpiece; costume includes beaded velveteen vest and muslin skirt and apron trimmed in ribbon; wooden maracas pinned to skirt; 12" tall 4. Woman; same as above, except another 2-part instrument is pinned to skirt; 13" tall 5. Girl; flat painted fabric face, hands, and legs; blonde yarn braids; costume includes beaded dark blue velveteen vest, muslin apron and skirt trimmed with ribbon; 9-1/2" tall. 6. Girl, same as above, except vest is red; 9-1/2" tall 7. Girl, same as above, except vest is red; 10" tall Donor's comments: The Polish dolls are quite old and have authentic clothes representing certain areas. I know that the man in the long blue coat is from Cracow, the old first Capitol of Poland. 8. Doll, "Mary & Her Little Lamb;" 4" tall, jointed china doll with synthetic hair and faded turquoise knit dress; 1" long painted wooden lamb on a strong Donor's Comments: "Mary & Her Little Lamb" was given to me years ago by the housekeeper for Isobel Field, the step-daughter of R.L. Stevenson and had been Isobel's. 9. BOOK, Chinese; red paper covers; 9-1/2 x 5"; Condition: Front cover is badly torn and taped in sections Donor's Comments: "In the 1920s there was a terrible fire in Chinatown on E. Canon Perdido. I was just a little girl but remember my father taking me down to view the burned site- people were picking up things from a pile of rubble- this book, I picked up there." 10. The Santa Barbara Legacy Reel Audio Tape Collection contain recordings of oral histories, radio programs, meetings, lectures, telephone conversations, ceremonies, and music perfomances of local old timers and influential people. These 184 electronic files, extracted from 98 one quarter-inch reel-to-reel magnetic tapes, represent the earliest audio recordings made by the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.
