The Thompson (Alpheus B.) Papers consist primarily of the correspondence and financial records of Captain Alpheus B. Thompson. Thompson came to Santa Barbara in the 1820s, married 1830, married Francisca Carrillo, a daughter of Carlos Antonio Carrillo, in 1834, and is credited with building the imposing two-story Monterey-style adobe on State Street.
