Biography

William Johnson Goodacre was born in England and emmigrated to United States in 1914. Initially living with a cousin in Fillmore, California, Goodacre moved to Santa Barbara in 1924. He married Florence A Grenier on or before 1918 and together had two sons, William Grenier Goodacre (1919-1991) and Norman Francis Goodacre (1922-1987). Goodacre was a prolific commercial artist and illustrated the "Old Mission Bells Will Ring Tonight" by Gouveneur Morrison, pictorial maps, and many Old Spanish Days graphic artworks.
