Mrs. Georgiana Spalding presented to the Santa Barbara Historical Society a portrait of one of her famous uncles, Capt. Francis Alexander Thompson, with whom Richard Henry Dana Jr. sailed aboard the Pilgrim (see Gledhill Library Obituary Scrapbook 22-45, 45A).
